Keller, Mayor SUBJECT: title Approval to apply for grant funding through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the NM Department of Transportation (NM DOT) for the Double Eagle II Airport Taxiways B & C Lighting Rehabilitation design project body . For your consideration, the Aviation Department requests approval to apply for federal and state grant funding to design the rehabilitation of the Double Eagle II Airport Taxiways B & C lighting system. This project will replace failing quartz halogen lighting and signage with LED fixtures. The existing system was installed in 2006, and the fixtures and transformers are failing, with replacement parts difficult to obtain due to the technology shift to LED. The total project cost is $91,762.00. The Aviation Department intends to apply for $82,585.00 through the FAA, and $4,588.00 from the NM DOT, with a total grant match requirement of $4,589.00. The cost share for this project is 90% Federal, 5% NM DOT, and 5% City match. The matching funds will come from existing appropriations within the department's capital fund.
