RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE WANAQUE AVENUE RETAINING WALL PROJECT THROUGH THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION LOCAL TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS FUND, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

title RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE WANAQUE AVENUE RETAINING WALL PROJECT THROUGH THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION LOCAL TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS FUND, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1. body WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter "County") is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter "Board") is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (hereafter "NJDOT") has advised the County that it is eligible for a grant in the amount of three million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($3,250,000.00); and WHEREAS, the County Engineer is seeking authorization to apply for grant funds from the NJDOT in the amount of three million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($3,250,000.00); and WHEREAS, the matter was discussed at the January 14, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the County Engineer to apply for grant funds in the amount of three million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($3,250,000.00) for the Wanaque Avenue Retaining Wall Project. LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, Chief Financial Officer, County Counsel, County Engineer, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
