STRATEGIC PLAN GOALS Goal 5: Improve Infrastructure, Mobility, and Technology 6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND The City increasingly utilizes cloud-based application solutions such as email, permitting, maintenance management, police computer aided dispatch and records management, website, financial system, and many others. The City currently utilizes Spectrum for business-class internet services. A second business-class internet service with Crown Castle is in progress. Adopting two physically diverse internet carriers eliminates the single point of failure inherent in a single-carrier design. A dual-carrier design delivers measurable improvements in uptime and operational continuity. VeloCloud is an excellent way to maximize the value of the dual internet services. VeloCloud actively aggregates and load-balances the two carrier's internet bandwidth improving operations and enables seamless fail-over alleviating the risk with a single carrier point of failure. Dual diverse carriers is now a standard best practice for businesses where internet connectivity can significantly impact operations. The purchase will be completed using NASPO ValuePoint Master Agreement AR2472 expiring on September 15, 2026. 7. ATTACHMENTS * Sidepath Quote
